He cries for hours, cries and never stops.
He shakes so hard his little cradle rocks.

Name:Christopher Kent
Website:Parabolical
Bio:

NAME: Christopher Kent/Lor-Zod
FANDOM: DC Comics
AGE: 9
RACE: Kryptonian
ALIGNMENT: Good
SKILLS/POWERS/SPECIAL ABILITIES: As a child, Chris is not in possession of his full potential as a Kryptonian. As of right now, he has superhuman strength and could likely lift several tons, invulnerability that protects him from toxins and diseases and other such things, and heat vision that he can blast out from his eyes. The beams can be made invisible and they are strong enough to harm an adult Kryptonian, as was shown when he burnt Zod. His ability to learn is far more advanced than that of a normal child and he was able to speak English after only a few days on Earth.
PB: Logan Lerman

BRIEF BACKGROUND SUMMARY: The Phantom Zone was discovered by Kryptonian scientist, Jor-El, who, with little knowledge of how the Zone worked, believed that it would be a more humane form of punishment for criminals who needed to be reprimanded. It was an interdimensional realm lingering beyond the usual space/time continuum, a barren space lacking in any physical material. Anyone in the Zone exists only as phantasms of their true selves and can no longer physically interact with any other being, nor can they use their former ability of speech. For them, communication is always telepathic and because the Zone exists outside of space/time, those trapped within are no longer victims to the power of age, which renders them immortal.

In the Phantom Zone, there stood an old transported prison called Fort Rozz, and unlike the territory that surrounded it, time passed normally there and anyone who stepped foot within its boundaries immediately regained a solid body. Two of the Zone’s deadliest convicts took up residence there and within its walls they mated and were able to conceive a child. The baby, who was like any other baby at first, was named Lor-Zod. He was small and defenseless and relied solely on his parents for protection and care. However, his mother and father were not the kind of people who would coddle and fuss over an infant and Lor-Zod was not given much affection. He was never taken beyond the Fort’s limits and he was often confused over how his parents reacted to him. As a child, he was desperate for positive attention, for the kind of love that they never offered. Ursa didn’t have a maternal bone in her body and Zod was a terrible man, somebody you’d never want around your children.

Lor-Zod learned to be fearful of his father early on. Regarded as nothing more than a tool by which they would engineer their final escape from the Phantom Zone, Zod was abusive toward his son and Ursa had no idea what she was doing when it came to the little boy. He did not respect his parents. He feared them, and fear and respect are two entirely different things. Children instinctively cling to their mothers. Lor-Zod would not have dared. He knew better. She didn’t want him hanging off of her and so he kept his distance, putting his arms around her only when she told him he could, which was not often. As he grew his father worked on manipulating Phantom Zone technology and was eventually able to create a small vessel that could maintain substantial form and leave the realm that trapped it. Because Lor-Zod was the only one capable of keeping a physical form, Zod and Ursa stuck him inside the ship and sent it to Earth. As the ship landed, it activated a beacon, allowing the other imprisoned Kryptonians the power to free themselves and follow it to Earth.

Witnessing people start to panic around him, Clark Kent immediately threw aside his glasses and became Superman as he rushed through the city to stop a strange meteor from crashing. Arriving at the scene just in time, Superman came face to face with the living thing inside the ship—a little boy. As he did when he first met Kara, he somehow recognized the child as being Kryptonian, although he couldn’t be completely sure. He took the boy to the Department of Metahuman Affairs for observation. There he exhibited super-human strength by lifting a three hundred pound television above his head with no effort. At the time, he only spoke Kryptonese, did not know where he was from and didn’t know his name (or maybe just didn’t want to say it).
Lois Lane wrote an exclusive story about the child's arrival to Earth for the Daily Planet and word of him quickly spread across the globe. Meanwhile, after the tests were complete and it was verified that he was of Kryptonian origin, they moved him to the Department of Metahuman Affairs headquarters in Washington, D.C. without informing Superman first. Enraged with what they had done, Superman broke Lor-Zod out of their custody and whisked him away to the Kent Farm in Smallville, Kansas.

In the Kent’s living room he taught himself how to speak English by reading the American Standard Dictionary and every other book he could get his hands on. Meanwhile, Clark voiced interest in wanting to adopt him, but Lois, unsure of her abilities as a parent, told him that they were not put on Earth to be parents. But during a press conference in which Superman was telling the world that the child was under his care, Lex Luthor sent Bizarro to find and kidnap the boy. Superman went after Bizarro and Lor-Zod demonstrated his invulnerability by surviving a bus falling on top of him. Afraid at what might have happened, Lois rushed to his side and found him unharmed but shaken. In tears, he threw himself into her arms and just as the globe sitting atop the Daily Planet came falling down, he saved both of them by holding it up.

He won Lois over and she agreed that she and Clark should adopt him. As the three of them were walking, Clark said that he needed a name and Lois was the one to provide him with one. As a little girl she had always wanted to name her future son Christopher, so that was what they ended up calling him. Clark contacted Batman, who used his resources to create a new identify for the little boy. Chris became Clark and Lois’ new adopted son and was sent to attend Ellsworth School, an elite private school where he had trouble concealing his powers, especially during P.E. To help him out Clark once again went to Batman and they created an implant concealed within a wristwatch, which used red sun radiation to block his abilities while he was in school, at least until he learned how to control them. While the watch was being created Chris made friends with Robin, who treated him like a little brother. But settling into his new life wasn’t entirely easy. Eventually, the watch failed and the built up energies exploded, wrecking Lois and Clark’s apartment. Clark had to reassure him that he wouldn’t be sent away and that they would cope with his growing powers.

Unknown to all of them, three more pods had already landed near the Fortress in the Arctic, carrying Zod, Ursa and Non. Lois and Clark were taking Chris into the Daily Planet when it was attacked. Superman confronted Zod and Lois tried to escape with Chris, but was stopped by Ursa who made a move to grab her child. Dozens of pods fell from the sky, all containing Phantom Zone criminals. One of them sent Superman into the Zone and with him gone, the criminals enslaved the city and trapped the heroes who came to stop them. Lois and Chris were among the ones they took prisoner and when it looked like Zod was about to harm his new mother, he attacked him with his heat vision, burning his hand in the process. Zod was not at all pleased with his son’s defiance and at one point, as the family of three was above the city, he took Chris and nearly crushed his skull after telling everybody below them that he would kill anybody who defied him, including his own son. In the midst of his birth father nearly killing him, Chris screamed for Ursa, called her mom. She did not reply, did not make a move to save him.

Before the Phantoms could be thrown back into the Zone and before Chris could join them to close the portal and keep Superman on Earth, he ended up somewhere else instead. Suddenly Zod's hands like a vice around his head were gone, as was everything else.
